Two individuals have been taken into custody following a hit-and-run accident in Bristol. The incident took place on Bedminster Down Road at approximately 11:30 am today, Wednesday, November 27. A pedestrian was struck by a van that was reportedly stolen. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with injuries that are said to not be life-threatening or life-altering. Bedminster Down Road was shut down in both directions while emergency services dealt with the situation. The van was located by the police, who then launched an investigation to identify the driver. It has been confirmed that a 31-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, and for fleeing the scene of the accident. The man faces additional charges of theft from a motor vehicle, possession of a bladed weapon, and possession of a suspected Class A substance. Authorities are still seeking information regarding the incident and are asking any witnesses or individuals with relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
