A new route from Bristol Airport will take passengers to a dreamy sun-soaked beach paradise destination. Aer Lingus is launching its first flight to Mexico next year. The service will connect Bristol travellers to Cancún via Dublin. The route will operate three times a week on the airline’s A330-300 aircraft.

Aer Lingus says it will offer holidaymakers a “seamless route to the warmth and vibrant cultural heritage of the Mexican Caribbean”. Flights start from January 6 and will operate until April 29. The airline says Cancún’s “balmy weather, golden beaches, and crystal-clear waters” have made it a popular destination for those who want to soak up some winter sun.

The region is also home to some of Mexico’s most iconic cultural sites, including the awe-inspiring Mayan ruins of El Rey, Ichkabal, Coba, Kohunlich, El Meco, Chichén Itzá, and Tulum. Foodies can also savour the authentic flavours of Mexican cuisine, from local delicacies like Queso De Bola and Marquesitas to freshly made guacamole.

Lynne Embleton, Aer Lingus chief executive officer, said: “Our new route to Cancún introduces a vibrant new destination to our network and further increases Aer Lingus’ winter sun offering. Our research highlights a strong appetite amongst customers for new travel experiences, particularly seasonal destinations beyond the peak summer period. Mexico, with its tropical climate, caters to the growing consumer demand for winter sun, while also offering a rich blend of history, culture, and cuisine.”

As well as Bristol, connections will also be available from Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Heathrow, Manchester, and Southampton airports. Get ready to pack your bags and head to Mexico for some fun in the sun!
